Hi there,
I'm looking to do Boundary on Sunday 8/22 and the previous posts were a great help. My question is since they are releasing 15 cfs in Kolob Creek, is it passable below the confluence of Boundary and Kolob Creek to MIA? How much water is past this point? Any info or recent experience is appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks, Tom. I am a big fan. :hail2thechief: So, I'm guessing the "short: no problem" means that we should go for it?

Yes, go for it...

BUT... be sure to check the weather of course.

Thanks Ryebrye and Tom... I'll let you know how it goes. Icebox tomorrow and Boundary on Sunday (weather pending, of course). Right now looks like 30% TS Sunday... Have a great weekend.

Are you doing the big-wall entrance to Icebox? Be sure to post pics...

Icebox was fantastic! What a beautiful, lush, picturesque canyon that you have to work for! It is not very slotty, but plenty of good rappels and the waterfalls are spectacular. We did the more technical Slickrock pass entrance and it was great. Anchors were all in good shape. Definitely stop by La Verkin falls on the slog out. See images below. Due to 40% chance thunderstorms and flash warnings in the Park, we decided to hold off on Boundary on Sunday. 36727367283672936730

464 feet or 150 meters. It's a big one!

464 feet or 150 meters. It's a big one!

A technical note on nomenclature -

"How big is the rap?" - each rappel has it's own length. The longest rap in Icebox is less than 165 feet.

"How big is that rap sequence?" - a series of rappels has a combined length - in this case, 464 feet, give or take.

Or bring a longer rope and do it all in one...
