I've searched but haven't found anything about this.

I want to do a winter backpacking/ xcountry ski trip this winter in Southern Utah. Has anyone done this or have any advice on trails?

The Tushar Mountains have yurts rent, lots of terrain...

And then Bryce Canyon NP has xc skiing opportunities that I've always wanted to try...

(none of which I have done but would like to)

No beta on ski touring in Utah, but I've done some here in California. I would ask if you are sure you prefer X-country gear to telemark or randonee? If the terrain gets steep at all I think the more supportive gear will be easier/safer. Also telemark/randonee boots accept crampons easily. I don't think X-country boots would, but I can't say I've ever looked into that.

Don't forget avy transceivers and practice using them with a buddy first!

Yea, I randonee. Much more supportive with a pack, also.

Thanks for the info, boys.

well if looking for a place in SW Utah I've hear of people doing the West Rim Trail in Zion. You could also do Virgin Rim Trail in the mountains above Cedar City.

I would assume the Pine Valley area would be pretty cool too, might even get a few turns in on the way down.
