View Full Version : Boundary Info request
I am going down boundary in Zion on Friday. This is my first time down. Has anyone been down recently and have a report? Information on the raps would be appreciated.

Have you ever done the mia exit? route-finding on that is very tough.
Tom's beta is good, you could buy his book and bring it with you to help navigate the exit. (or print out the web page)
The canyon is quite pretty and has nothing too hairy, but the exit is ridiculous.

The exit is nasty. You do not want to try navigating that in the dark. Also keep in mind that the steep stuff is the easy stuff. It's the road walk afterwards that kicks my ass.

The wording in the BOOK is generally far superior to what is on the website. I am in the process of transferring the book text to the website, but it is a slow process.
Boundary is likely still running pretty good and pretty cold. Wet suits pretty much required. Be careful on the 3rd rope pull - it can easily get stuck.
Tom :moses:
I have done MIA after doing Eye of the Needle. We were going to go last saturday and it was running fast. We did not have wet suits - so we delayed the trip to this week with them.
Thanks for the advise.
We did boundary for the first time. It was a wonderful day, We underestimated the time it would take and came out MIA in the dusk/dark. Glad it was a full moon. It was clear there was a flash flood in there a day or 2 previous, most likely on Wednesday. There was a lot of new debris in boundary and evidence that Kolob had also been running high. The water falls were running fast. Wet Suits are a must.
I was going to post some photos but I need to post a few times before I am allowed to. Off to do Subway with some newbies.

Water falls? Was there flow in Boundary? If so how much?
Thanks
