So i am coming up to zion with a youth group the 19th and 20th and one of the other leaders and i are planning on skipping out on the service project and heading out to do keyhole or pinecreek. I know let the kids work and i get to play not the best attitude but i haven't been up to zion yet this year and want to knock a little canyon out if i can. So how hard is it to get a permit for one of these cause i know that they are walk in only's becuase of the construction. Also how early can we get them. The day before or the day of do we have to get the permit. Thanks.

Also i am assuming that the two canyons are full of water due the the recent flooding and Rain today.

I am a doplar geek and am always watching it up there.

I read a report on the construction progress. I think it came for poster here, his username is the thedesertnomad. If I remember correctly construction is getting quite close to keyhole with equipment occupying some of the parking. potentially soon keyhole will be close until the construction passes and work equipment no longer occupies the parking spots.

edit: found the post for you. sounds like it may already be closed if not real soon.

In July we tried to get a permit for 23rd, but the BC desk said it was closed due to the construction.
