Summit, that is a great shot! I love the aperture you used on that. Everything has a nice balance and you do not have to try hard at all to see the details in the photos.

Mind me asking what your exposure time was? And were you using bulb for the shutter?

continuous fire
Locked wired remote ($5 of ebay)

30seconds
F/2.8
ISO1600
60 images (or so) stacked.

pretty much with a few tweaks and twists.
I really don't mess with in camera noise reduction or dark frames. I have done it but really did not see much improvement over running my images through noise ninja or LR3. Maybe its because noise reduction removal is getting better every year in fact with LR3 its pretty amazing.



Here is my Flickr set for Star Trails from newest to oldest. As you can tell there was a bit of a learning curve.

And that ISO 6400 on your 7D is pretty sweet too.
