So looking out the window, on this fine if somewhat humid Cambridge evening, I spy no 3000 foot snadstone cliffs with majestic canyons cutting through them like a hot knife through butter, which is a bit of a downer. On the other hand, we did have a thunderstorm the other day and the worst that happened was that my feet got wet, so that's not so bad.

What we do have, however, is short and cheap flights to the Alps, so in a few weekends myself, Sylvia and Zoe will be flying to Treviso in Italy, renting a car and driving up to the Dolomites to try our hands at a few via ferratas. We've never done this, and it could be, er, interesting with my acrophobia, but being tied to a steel cable forgives many sins.

Will, of course, be posting a trip report with photos. Watch this space!

(If this goes well, we're tempted to check out El Caminito Del Rey (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmDhRvvs5Xw) later in the year. Now that should be fun!

Sounds fun! I'll be watching for your TR. I'm always fascinated by the Alps.

So looking out the window, on this fine if somewhat humid Cambridge evening, Ah, Cambridge. I've spent a few months there. Brings back memories.
