Best place to camp is just east of the Emerald Lake near the Trees.
As we hiked up Saturday we saw 150+ hikers on their way down, 30+ scouts and hikers had camping gear. Saturday night there was a total of four people camped at the lake (2 of them being us). The ratio of the people on timp between Friday night and Saturday night always amazes me.

I would have to say around 30lbs due to 13lbs of camera gear, I dont own and scale and try not to think about it. To help cutback a bit on weight I only carried one full water bottle and made more frequent stops to filter.
