This morning we went to Zion to do Pine Cr. There were no permit's available and I didn't want to drag my beginner friend through anything much harder. So we headed to Wahweap(Stateline actually) Rented a boat and went up to West canyon, drove in as far as we dare(and I dare a lot in a rental with the motor trimmed way up) Then we went back, turned in the boat, hit a good Mexican joint in Page and I'm home a little after 10:00.
Did I mention some of us live in a pretty cool area?

Don your therapy expenses should include time off to go through a canyon, cost of food, gas and misc supplies (ie beer). Oldno7 said! Go for it!

Headed to West Canyon this weekend. A buddy of mine claims he has found the coolest slot hike around. So while down there boating we are going to check it out. We spent a lot of time last fall looking for it. He had hiked up it years ago but we couldn't find it. Says there is a serious pot hole right at the start and then it gets awes. We'll see.
Yea Utah sucks.

I love Utah!!!! My friends always are talking about how they need to get out of Utah that this place is holding them back. Fact is we have 4 amazing seasons of the year. You live up every season and just when your getting tired of it, another one comes. AMAZING

I keep meaning to add comments to this thread, but haven't, so I'll add them all at once:
1. Like the phots, Kurt! Nothing like a little appreciation for a fine, cold, refreshing malted beverage.
2. The video was great - though I'm no longer a skier (damn knee...) it was entirely full of win.
3. Here in Vancouver, we don't make soot. Just rust. Rust and pot.
4. sarahlizzy cracks me up, too. When is next year's British Invasion going on? Wanna share a canyon, a pint, or both!

Don't have dates for next year yet, but it's almost certainly happening. Pints are v. good - I developed quite a taste for that Evolution Ale!
Also, air that's not constantly humid and full of grass pollen (I have allergies) is really welcome.
I do at least get to go climbing on limestone sea cliffs here though, so it has its consolations :haha:

This is true - most of the rusting and pot growth left in the Lower Mainland is purely amateur/recreational. :haha:
Look at you, Chris, in the field with internet!! Not bad.

Hell yes! Utah gets a bad rep 'cause of awkward liquor laws but there's some great local brew around and I'm glad to hear you found it! That evolution is tasty, did you have a chance to try the devastator?

Get out of Utah!..I'd love to live out there. I visit often but I'm stuck in Ohio...Land of rain, heat n humidity and the woods are like a jungle this time of year. I did talk to some one from N Dakota who was actually jealous of me. I live near the big ride park Cedar Point, Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Football Hall of Fame, & Ray's Indoor Mountain Bike Park and I've never been to any of them. I would guess there are people in Utah who are not into canyoneering, mtn. biking, or the great outdoors in general.:cool2:
There are people that live 30 min from amazing ski resorts and they have never skied! I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!

How about 30 minutes from a resort and never been on a lift?

Nah that doesn't bother me. You choose to climb up the mountain yourself... all the more power to ya! Cheaper besides!

I live less than 150 miles away from Stonehenge, but I've never seen it...

Don't think I could resist seeing Stonehenge but I don't think I would plan a trip around it.
On the other hand, I could really dig bike touring Hadrian's Wall. :2thumbs:
