Fantastic! I think that canyon's a lot of fun - good variety in the rappels. Looks like you guys all had a good time! :2thumbs:

Apparently the park used to have people go up to the little arch we rappelled through. There were steps carved at the top of the last rap, like a 15' ladder would be needed to reach them, and then the bridge and a cable with steps above the next to last rap to get to the bottom of the little arch. Not sure when the park service shut it down but it looks greater than 15-20 years?

Nah, from well before it was a Park. It only became a Park in 1971.

But it became a National Monument in 1937 (Under the control of Zion National Park). Cassidy Arch was inside the orginal National Monument.
I'm still interested in hearing more about the history of the old bridge and the Disneyesque rapelling attraction....

I think it should be noted, and Tom or Ram can confirm, but I believe most of the previous descenders of this canyon entered directly above Cassidy Arch(West). We entered in a different drainage that comes in from the North.

Still into the Chamber (Silo?, Hole?, room?) behind the arch?

We did not rappel behind the arch. We didn't even hike up to the arch.
Theres a drainage that comes into the main canyon from the North, that is where we entered.
