FLAGSTAFF - Authorities have recovered the
body of a Utah man who apparently drowned w
hile on a camping trip in northern Arizona.
The Coconino County Sheriff's Office
identified the victim Thursday as 32-year-
old Michael Allen, of Ogden. They say he was
camping with family and friends and was
swimming in a pool Wednesday at the top of
Mooney Falls when he went under the water
and didn't resurface.
Authorities say Allen went over the falls, fell
about 200 feet to the bottom of Havasupai
Canyon and his body was washed down the
creek for about 100 yards.
Sheriff's detectives and the county Medical
Examiner are investigating the death. They
say Allen possibly became unconscious in
the pool for some reason or got hung up on
some debris under the water.
