I have heard through the grapevine that there has been some confrontations between flaggers that are working the construction in Zion National Park and canyoneers headed to east side canyons. I imagine that everyone has strong feeling about the construction going on but this would be a great chance not to make it worse. I have tried to be nice to the flaggers realizing that they are not the ones in charge and if word travels up to whom ever is running this show they may decide to close stuff on us. Lets try and get the word out that yelling at some guy or girl holding a flag isn't going to improve our access at all.

how do they know it's canyoneers and not hikers or people who failed to plan properly before with the traffic delays taking it out on the workers?
flaggers? last week they had automated stop lights doing the flag work not individuals.
I once worked on a bike race helping direct traffic with Wasatch County Sheriff deputies. There were a lot of ***hole drivers taking their frustrations out on us. Don't think any of them were angry runners, motor sports fans, hikers, etc for blocking their access. Just impatient people who failed to used judgment to the advance public notice that traffic would be impacted early in the morning.

I don't know why they thought it was canyoneers and not hikers, maybe they had ropes or something and were trying to get somewhere before the road opened. I didn't post this to make people defensive or anything like that. I just thought that if they think it is canyoneers, there is something simple that we as a community can do to help our case. I imagine that a street light didn't complain to the park so I believe the guy when he said it was flaggers. Sorry.

Just seeing if you had any more info that identified these people. I hope people realize if they have a concern over the road project it's not the contracted workers responsible for the decision.

Canyoneers seems to be the whipping posts of Zion Park. Kinda like lawyers. Why do people always blame lawyers! Frankly I am grateful for our former President, current president, and global warming. Bush, Obama, and global warming have really taken a lot of heat off of us lawyers. :haha:

Why do people always blame lawyers!
You are seriously asking this????
Because lawyers go to court and fight with other lawyers over stupid shit like deposition dates.....
Many lawyers have a habit of stirring the pot and creating additional problems where none exist.... lawyers don't get paid as much if everything is all peaceful and one big happy group hug.... the pay goes up if things get nasty and drawn out....
On a selfish level it's not in the lawyers best interest to wrap things up as quickly and cleanly as possible....
Yeah.... I know.... I just painted an entire profession with a couple wide brush strokes... and I'm sure there are many descent lawyers where the clients interests come first.... but the profession is also loaded with ambulance chasers, rebel rousers and pot stirrers.....
Here is a fun little website to visit if you want to have a a good read: My Lawyer Sucks (http://www.mylawyersucks.com/)
Now.... I bet you are sorry you asked that question. :lol8:
