So I want to try putting a picture on a Google map. Like the one Sombeech used of Summits in his tutorial. I can't figure it out.... please help.

Edit:

Ok so do you have to add placemark and then choose attach picture but the picture has to be already uploaded to say picasa and you copy the url into the box??? Hmmm that didn't work.

You need to use the HTML code for your picasa image.
When you have your place placemark open click on the "edit HTML" and past the code there.

Just logged into Picasa ... you need to copy the code they have labled as "Embed imagehttp://picasaweb.google.com/s/v/62.14/img/transparent.gif".

I have another question about the google maps.

I started recording the trail from my house but I don't really want to show that in a map I share that only has pics of the trail. Is there a way to cut out sections of the recorded trail. When I try to delete the line it takes out from the house and good portion of the trail I rode. It won't let me just delete a small part.

Never mind I figured it out. That was a pain in the ass. Delete each point one by one. Is there a better way?

I edit my tracks in Google Earth. I just click on a point in the track, then hold down the backspace key. It will delete the points in the track very quickly until I let up on the backspace key. Works very quickly, sometimes too quickly.

I couldn't get the map to show the tracks in Google Earth. I think I am technically challenged. :haha:
