Latest I found was 6/13 trip both at the canyons group and on bogley.
The reason I ask is I know a group planning to go in the coming week WITHOUT any cold water protection. I raised my concern to some members yet the group leader reassures them and claims to know what he is doing.
Same group last year jumped all drops in the subway. Thankfully no broken bones.

What I posted on the yahoo group:
I am of a slightly larger build than your "thin built" female friend. I
wouldn't do Das Boot any time of year without a full wetsuit on. I tried once
in a shorty in May. Baaaaad idea that was. I would probably still be in there
sitting on a log at the end of the canyon pondering how to get off said log if
it weren't for my less hypothermic partners. (That was a long time ago during
my steep learning curve days). Last time I went was last July. I had a few boys
and men mad at me for them having to carry a wetsuit all that way until they hit the water.
Then they were believers. Their lack of trust turned to expressions of "Thank
you, Scott for making us bring wet suits." "You are welcome", I said after
muttering under my breath my contempt for their whining. ;-)
WET SUIT or stick with the Subway only -- and even then if she is a mini-skinny,
she still may want a wet suit. Take it from a slightly larger framed and warm
blooded canyoneer.
btw, the coldest pool in that canyon is at the 15+ yard swim at the rock/log blockage. I have done it without a wetsuit and was "okay" but a skinny girl is gonna have problems...no doubt about it.

was PMed these conditions as of June 29th from Dave, thanks!:
Four of us had full wet suits, gloves, neo socks and were comfortable. Two had shorty wet suits (not sure mil thickness but they weren't thin). Those two were very cold, and not having much fun by the end.
I've never done that canyon before so I don't have much to compare our experience but we were walking on dry ground about 1/3 of our time in the slot. I don't know if that is "normal" but that certainly saved the day for the two without proper protection. If we had been in water the whole time it might have been worse--not like about to die worse--just much more uncomfortable for them. As it was we had a GREAT time in the canyon.

Went thru last year in the middle of June with my wife and daughter. They are both pretty small and in 4/3 neo with gloves and socks they were still cold. They would of never made it without neo. I was on the edge of cold. Your friends are a few cards short of a full deck.
