View Full Version : The big summer camping trip! (Sarcastic punctuation!)
It’s that time of the year again (I honestly don’t remember the last time I had fathers day off). Annual Training. This year it’s camping, army style, out at Camp Williams. Saturday the 5th through Sunday the 20th.
I’ll have my phone and thanks to Eagle Mountain I get ok reception out there, but that’s it; I won’t have high-speed internet. I’ll likely read a bit of Bogley when I have time and may even post but probably not much till I get back.
Anyway, here are some pics of camp taken from the ridge separating us from Eagle Mountain.

have fun at camp. don't be too afraid of the scary stories around the campfire, and enjoy the smores.
Service is worse than I hoped. Made it into main Camp Williams for a shower and email/Bogley check on my phone.
Reading 'Three Cups of Tea' (don't have the authors name with me. About a guy who built schools in Pakistan. Should finish tonight then I have some Stegner...
Camp is ok, kind of fun sometimes but it's all in the attitude (I'd rather be somewhere else but I can have fun here anyway).
I did streak a meeting yesterday (story later, I gotta go).

Was nosing around on FB for you and noticed you weren't around much. Glad to know you are well. The view is nice out in Camp Williams! Sorry to say, but not sure Dominoes delivers to remote locations? :cry1:
Three Cups of Tea is a great read. Went to see him speak when he stopped through our area a couple of years ago. Donated a few bucks to his cause.
Hang in there buddy!

I love Three Cups of Tea. Excellent book!
I did streak a meeting yesterday Pics or it didn't happen:twisted:
I will be at the bar tomorrow evening. We're tearing things down today, then we'll spend one more night out there. In the morning we'll finish tearing down and spend the rest of Friday and all of Saturday cleaning and putting things away. I don't even know what we're doing on Sunday but I hope for an early release so I can at least see my boy on fathers day...
Thanks for the concern Alison, and Dominoes did deliver to the back gate (only about a mile and a half from camp).

I saw that too - pics of streaking of its all talk bro! I camped out there for 'scout camp' when I was a youngun...we watched 'The Devil's Brigade'...complete with the controversial naked woman mural scene. We were livin on the edge...
Had to work this morning, early, but they let us off early so I'm home. I've got some cumulative tiredness I'd like to sleep off for a day or two. I am going to see E this afternoon so happy dad's day.
Camp is over and it's time for a good breakfast brew...

I dunno - an IPA for breakfast might be a little too much hops in the AM for me... I'd probably go for something more like an oatmeal stout - it even sounds breakfasty.
Have a good dad's day with E. :2thumbs:
