I bought my first GPS (Garmin 60Csx) last Friday at REI's sale. I took it out hiking this weekend and really liked it. Since I've now got a GPS I've been looking at the Garmin 24K Topo maps and had a few questions for you pros-

-Do they have trails marked on the map or just topography?
-Do I really have to use Garmin's maps or do less expensive maps that will adapt to my GPS and be just as good exists?
-How well do these interface with Macs? (probably a questions I should of asked before I purchased it)

Anyways thanks in advance.

Great links!

I spent about 2 hours playing with my new map last night but I have another questions, does the Garmin 24K Topo map have better resolution and show trail?

I am also thinking about buying a GPS and to pick the right GPS is not an easy choice. So I looked for a GPS buyer's guide on the internet in order to be better informed before I decide to invest money in it.

:spam: indeed. I have to admire the effort, though. When I saw Mike post his newbie "hello" in someone else's Welcome thread, I was a little confused. His post in the "What are you reading" thread was incredibly bland and non-committal. But to take 17 minutes from first post to spam post, well, that's dedication.

Hey! Mike from Chicago! WTF dude? All that effort for one link that will soon be removed?
