View Full Version : Awesome New Moab Slot

Here are a couple teaser pictures of a slot we did this weekend. We kinda stumbled on to it while looking for something else. Marc Olivares, Keith Frank and I scouted the slot from the rim on Friday, and then Marc and I did the route on Saturday after sending Keith home with instructions of where to look for the bodies if we didn't show up by Sunday night.

Here is what I can tell you about the slot.... it's in the Moab area and its and "honest to God slot canyon". The actual slot is over 1 mile long and is not the usual Moab type stuff. The route has rappels up to 200'.

I'll try and get the beta written up and posted this week.... so until then..... enjoy the pictures....

I have know clue where "hole in the rock - the house" in the Moab area is....

I have know clue where "hole in the rock - the house" in the Moab area is....

Hole in the Rock is the house/tourist attraction a few miles south of Moab by Kane Springs. There are some long slots there that I have peeked into and look familiar to your photo.

The other Hole in the Rock is by lake Powell in which the pioneers descended. Had to clarify which one by adding - the house.

Looking forward to the beta.

Doesn't look like Lost Springs area to me (edit-I was wrong).

Before posting, maybe Ice can give us some clues and see if we can figure it out.:2thumbs:
