Thunder Mountain camping

Hey guys was making a trip down south and was wondering if anyone could recomend good car camping sites or quiet areas where we can camp legally and fee free. Any help is appreciated tremendously thanks!

I'm thinking this is the upper trailhead for Thunder Mountain, I've been there once. I can't quite remember if there are any camping spots right there or not.

It wouldn't surprise me if there were, it kinda has that feel.

I was thinking that mountain would be rideable sometime in June.

There is a nice campground right at and before the trailhead. I think it's a pay site. There's also pay camping at the bottom of Thunder Mountain trail where you end the ride. Across the highway from there is a dirt road that heads north. We've always been able to find a primitive camping spot off from that.
