Question #1:

GoPro HD Hero or other? (I'll be using for biking, snowboarding, canyoneering, water sports

Question #2:

Know where I can get one for a good deal? Everywhere I see they are being sold at retail and I've been told that buying full cost is for suckers.

Thanks,
Thomas

not sure if our sponsor Bikewagon.com has the GoPro Hero yet, but plug in the coupon code of "bogley" and you'll get 5% off.

I'll get the GoPro most likely some day when my current setup wears out. But for starters you can always use a point and shoot camera in video mode. I've shot probably 300 videos with mine in the past 2 years. Then buy the actual helmetcam when you know you're going to use it often enough.

I will post a video I just got from GoPro HD video from the back of my raft. I am totally sold on the camera. Awesome video, great angle and small in size

Yeah, if you're going to buy one, HD and wide angle is the way to go.
