Sweet, just in time for the shuttle retirement. This would be SO cool on my desk (at home or at the office).

"The $100 1,204-piece set stands 17.5 inches tall, with a 10-inch wingspan. It includes launch pad, detachable fuel tank, booster rockets, robot arm, retractable landing gear, opening cockpit with two minifig astronauts (male and female), opening cargo compartment, satellite, and even a ground vehicle."

do you know someone qualified to assemble such a piece of technology? you may need to contract it out to a 6 year old.

I know an over qualified 35 year old who would love to put it together, but I could get E to work on it; if I've learned anything in the Army it's the value of delegating one's responsibilities. :naughty:

Way cool!

I was at the very first shuttle landing (it is among my earliest memories). People were so excited about it (and I remember everyone yelling "THERE IT IS! I SEE IT!" The excitement I saw that day (and the following shuttle landings) really sparked my patriotism.

Legos are so cool! We have so many at my house and they end up being vacuum food.

Aaron and I had a ton of fun building many, many lego models. The shuttle didn't have a launch pad when we got it. It did have landing gear, but they have broken off somewhere along the line. We did the 3000 piece Imperial Starship and an awesome Ferrari in the Technics style.

I was looking for a photo of my son's shuttle, but I couldn't find one - and I didn't want to go wake him up. But that's it, ststephen! Here's the best I could find - it's on the top shelf, on the left:

Is that a kid's closet? Holy cow. How'd you get Mary Freaking Poppins to visit your house?

I have to say my second thought, after "why am I not surprised Don, Kev and I are all lego freaks" is that I would never consider posting a pic of my son's closet!

It was, like, the day after we moved in. Doesn't look like that anymore! :haha:

So, have I mentioned my son's total love for Lego yet?

Nice! Not too many of ours are still assembled. For a while I was threatening to decorate the TV room in an Star Wars theme and hang the various models in a battle scene. For some odd reason Robin didn't think that was a good choice. Go figure.

And, here's a functional Lego printer... I'm going to have to start a new 'Lego's are bad-ass' thread and just keep posting when I geek-out about cool Lego shee-it.

(P.S. Suck it Gary Coleman; you were weird and weren't a good actor.)

Somewhere between intelligence and obsession but without the social ineptitude... I can live with that.

Speaking of obsession... :naughty:
