Searched here and couldn't find a master thread. Let's get a trip report thread going for restaurant or any eating establishments, have a favorite place, recommendations, places to avoid, post em here. Even if you're not in Utah post away. Never know when some of us will find ourselves in S.Cali, Florida, Washington, Connecticut, Oklahoma, UK, etc.

OK I'll go first.

I LOVE Red Iguana. I found it a few year's back and I'm not surprised it's so renowned. I'm a mole nut and they have mole to die for. So many places I could mention out here in the SF bay area. Here's two with a "door" theme:

Slanted Door
1 Ferry Building #3 San Francisco, CA 94111 tel 415.861.8032
From their website: northeast corner of the restored Ferry Building across The Embarcadero from the foot of Market Street. It's an Asian fusion place with a Vietnamese base. Fantastic location if you are doing touristy things in SF, like taking the ferry to Sausalito. Sit at the bar and order a drink and some small plates.

Cellar Door
328 Ingalls Street Santa Cruz
This is the new tasting room for the Bonny Doon Winery and also a very good restaurant in its own right. The menu is small though but the seasonal items are usually very nice. Call ahead and find out what the prix fixe offering is and pre-reserved it if it sounds good. They often sell out of that item completely based on reservations. The location is also great for tourists because there are a few other brew pubs and shops in this out-of-the-way location.

I did use the search function. Didn't use enough of the right words. I did find the anniversy dinner thread. Did not choose it because it's not a master thread. Milkshakes not a master thread. Tavern not a master thread. Zion not a master thread.

Now local restaurant, is a master thread. Only if there was a global mod that could delete this thread or merge it

New post, re-post, I don't care. Best place I have ever eaten was at The Painted Pony in St. George. Bacon wrapped duck. MMMMMMMMM!

There are no words that I feel can accurately convey my own personal disappointment in this thread based upon the title.

I saw that the Red Iguana was voted the best mexican in town and took a date there. The chips were way too thick and hard, the salsa too runny, everything was covered in some nasty mole sauce, and the waitress was horrible. I wouldn't go back.

Personally, I'm a big fan of Tsunami. they have fantastic sushi. Also, there's this little hole in the wall on State in SLC around 2100 S called Curry in a Hurry. It's fantastic! Then of course there's Tucano's & Rodizio's. Both are mouth watering when you're just in the mood for some red meat.
