We've got the regular Google Map embed button:
http://www.bogley.com/forum/images/buttons/map.gif
And now the Custom/Saved Google Map embed button:
http://www.bogley.com/forum/images/buttons/savedmap.gif

You can sign into your Google Account, go to http://maps.google.com, import KML, KMZ, or GeoRSS files to a map or just create a custom map of your own, and now embed those maps here.

...now with the Google Earth view. :cool2:

Here's a short video on how to embed your saved Google Maps:

And for a reminder on how to use the regular Google Map button:

An example of an embedded saved map, thanks to MtnBkr (http://www.bogley.com/forum/member.php?1985-MtnBkr):

I like the saved maps feature, very nice for beta publishers.

Is there a way to SAVE the embedded files?

I found if you quote the post that has the map embedded, just copy the link that's between the tags. For example on Pelon1's map above, if you quote it, he'll have this as the link between the tags:

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=101058105514823645467.00047b456a9b010aa0d72&ll=37.01907,-112.020657&spn=0.009663,0.0192W9&t=h&z=16

Then you can click that and there's an option to "Save to my maps"

YES!! Thank you! Maybe you should put that piece of info in your description somewhere.

True. I'm trying to build a central thread with my tutorials, hopefully tomorrow. I'll definitely have to include that tidbit. Thanks for bringing it up.

Dang, I'll just have to make a new video and include that. I also just found that if you click on a marker and get the balloon to come up with the owner's username, you can go to their profile and see their public maps and save those too. Good stuff.
