I remember seeing a couple of trees very similar to this one when I was on my mission in Brasil. The spine were very sturdy and sharp as heck. They were cool.

We had one of these thorny type trees in my front court court yard of an apartment complex I managed while I was in school in So. Cal. I only brushed by it one time while mowing. It only took one time.....
