The weather is looking iffy this weekend but I still plan on driving the Cathedral Valley loop in Capitol Reef. So far the plan is to ford the river, make our way to the CG, chillax. and shoot photos. Day 2 we will head over the temple of the sun/moon and head off to a new location...
Anyone have any experience in this area or is there anything else worth checking out?

Thanks!

I spent an entire day in Cathedral Valley area. It is amazing! Being remote and scenic are two things that I enjoy.
I would buy a map from the visitor center, check to see how high the river is running before fording it (spring runoff). This website http://www.gorp.com/parks-guide/travel-ta-scenic-drives-capitol-reef-national-park-torrey-utah-sidwcmdev_052664.html was a great resource as to where good stops are, and basic information about the stops. My favorite stops along the route were the south desert overlook(just the remoteness of it was very, I guess I would say, inspiring) , and the benonite hills (hike down into the bottom, there is lava rock in the middle of the colorful washes and you can get some cool pictures of that)

My own lame blog has some pics and trip report. http://mattsamazingsouthernutah.blogspot.com/2009/10/cathedral-valley_20.html

Cool thanks - nice photos.
Weather is looking a bit better....
When I last checked on Tuesday the Fremont was 12" deep at the crossing.
