Put up a very short TR from 7 days on the lake last week. Knowing I'd be pressed for time, I didn't take a lot of photos, and the video won't be finished before I leave. Nonetheless, here's a few from the trip.

Hay Danno - have a great relaxin' time on the PCT.

Love that first pic of Ram sleepin' and droolin' on the boat.

The lake is high, so that last rap there is only about 160' right now. We've done it at just over 300'. Fun to pull from the boat. The trick is, through the canyon, you bring the rope you need for the canyon (100'?) and a long pull cord, drop the pull cord to your boatman, who ties on the big rope, haul it up, re-rig, and away you go!

Tom :moses: Is that a rap you could set short a few feet and do a splash down???:2thumbs:

Oh, and for you boat people, the other trick is that the boat is ONLY under the rappeller in the last 10 feet. As Ivy pointed out, while losing rappel control and plunging into Lake Foul from 200' is BAD, hitting the boat and sinking it too would be REALLY BAD!

In the fall, when the water is warm, I usually let go of the rope about 30 feet up and splash in from there, which is quite a bit slower than freefall. Using Radio control, COULD set high and plunge. Would be especially fun if you don't tell anyone, secret plan between you and the boatman... (don't tell Ram...)
