Does anyone know where to find real time information on the condition of the North Fork Rd? For those who do not know, the North Fork Rd is the dirt road that takes you to the Birch Hollow trail head, Orderville gulch and the Narrows trail head. Any idea if the snow is gone yet and the road is passable?

I know this isn't exactly what you were hoping for.... but here is a live camera of Zion. It looks like the snow is gone up high....

I would call Zion National Park 435-772-3256 or the Zion Ponderosa Ranch 1-800-293-5444.

I would call Ponderosa over the park. They are located right there by the road. In my experience some rangers know what they are talking about, others think they know.

Yeah, I sent the Ponderosa an email yesterday, should just get on the phone and give them a ring. Thanks!

Got a reply back from the Ponderosa for anyone who may be thinking of heading up that way in the near future:

Birch Canyon still has snow and ice in it. North Fork Road is not open at this time all the way to Orderville Canyon turn off. We tried a few days ago to make it to Birch and there is still snow on North Fork before Birch. It is supposed to snow and rain Tuesday through Friday this week.

I drove the North Fork road today. It was clear all the way to Chamberlain's Ranch trailhead. There was a few puddles but I was in two wheel drive the whole way (ground clearance was good to have, I wouldn't recommend cars yet). I'm not a macho dude that just floors it through everything.:cool2: I have to pay for what I break on my truck.

Thanks for the info! Will be pulling a travel trailer up that road in two weeks, good to hear it's clear now.
