Looks like it's coming together. I have inflatable kayaks, a packraft, and drybags all over my house right now. Looks like rain up near Hanksville this coming week---Hooray---- anything to help the usually pitiful river flow. I'm hoping with the record snows etc in southern utah that'll boost the river some, although irrigation is going on right now and diverting a lot of it.

I don't think I'll get out of some boat dragging however. Gonna try to make it to Hite this time, but want to get some hiking in too. Planning on 7 days on the water, cause of my blasted work schedule.

If you see a redhead and a tall skinny guy ( Brian) with a hitchhiking sign for Hanksville weekend after next on hwy 95 near the bridge at Lake Powell we'd appreciate a ride!!

Do you know what CFS the river was running at during your two trips down the Dirty Devil? If not, can give me the exact dates so that I can try to find those flows archived at the USGS? I am considering doing the trip this year and am wondering exactly how much water you need in the river for ideal conditions. Cheers!

ideal condition is 250 cfs. runnable is 100 cfs. most people drag boats and run it at anything over 125 cfs.
