I drove through the gorge probably 4-6 times per month for 8 years and always saw rocks on or beside the road. Always thought they were from climbers. Lots of vehicles but never had time to look for actual climbers.

Probably not from climbers, most of the climbs are not right next to the road.

Looks awesome, thanks for sharin'

They kinda are next to the road. You could easily toss a rock and hit cars. Full view of the freeway, noise and all.

I find the area fairly unaesthetic looking, given how close I-15 is. Rumor has the rock is superb (some say, the best for that type of climbing/grades). Heck, nothing there for me to hardly warm up on! Tough place.

Hey, do you know if Mike lives in Sugarhouse, like, maybe a block from the park? Thought I saw him in my hood the other day...

Ever get down to Mesquite? Fan-f'n-tastic...

Cheers,

Mike lives in Rose Park but could have been in your hood. I hear Mesquite is good but I don't have much beta. We climbed at Prophesy after the VRG (no pics since Mike left and it was just Matt and Me) I thought it was REALLY good. Did some 5.9 and 5.10, so nice to pull on jugs after getting worked in the VRG. Tom, the pics are of Mentor 5.12b and Fall of Man 5.13b. Not much redpointing went on though. It was my first time at the VRG and the rock is really good. Mentor is super consistent but super fun (I don't think there is one easy move on the entire route, at least not for me. Feels like 80 feet of V4 moves over and over and over). I'd like to get stronger and go back next winter.
