I received my REI Rebate today..... it was for $1.40....

I can't remember buying anything at REI last year.... so I guess it's a win...

Smallest REI dividend in several years now. :ne_nau:

I think next year's will be smaller though.

I don't think I'll be getting a rebate. I bought everything with a 20% off coupon, or at the garage sales. I sure found some good deals at the sales!

$300 tent for $50
$300 bag for $40

I wish they didn't have that corporate mandate that stopped them from haggling with you.

$24. If I can use it in conjunction with the current single item 20% off sale on their web site I might just buy a new pack... :2thumbs:

That's what she said!

I got $15 last year, but haven't been to an REI since. Not even to spend my rebate. :(

Spent mine before I received it. It came in the mail today but yesterday I ordered a new tent on line and used the rebate along with my 20%. I wanted to have a very light 2-person tent to complement the 3-person we use when (duh) all three of us go backpacking.

I got mine last week and tossed the magazine in the back of the van I did not even look at it. so today my wife was doing some cleaning and found it apparently i have a 40 dollar rebate so now i have to go to REI again.

I got a new tent with my rebate/20%. I set it up today for the first time. Wow, I really like it. The fabric and materials are amazing. It's an MSR Hubba Hubba HP. Here's some pics from my yard, gives me a chance to try out bogley's new photo handling...

Sweet tent! I have been using an MSR Hubba for the past few years and I really like it.

I think you'll be very happy with your selection. :cool2:

BTW, my rebate was something like $3.50. I'm cheap, and I buy nearly everything on the sales or at the outlet.

Awesome yard. What is your flowering tree?

The big question is, do you drop the entire rebate for one large item, or buy a bunch of little stuff? I'm having a conundrum.....

$30-something or other.

I'm ordering a new pair of backpacking boots, the new slightly heavier version of the Asolo 535's, after the first of the month passes. Last season I had to avoid trips where mud, snow, and/or rain were likely. That didn't leave many. I can't complain though, I got 5 good years out of the last pair of 535's before this latest season. Between the dividend and the 20% off coupon they'll come in around $130.

heehee... it's not as bad as one might think...I have an REI credit card as well!

So far, I've gotten a sweet PearliZumi bike riding wind jacket and a sweet Marmot rain shell...

One big one. You get 20% off one item when you use your dividend (by a certain date).

$263! Damn!
I did put my measly $24 toward a new pack. The REI Flash 65; last year's Backpacker magazine editors choice award winner. Only had it out once but I really like it. Might have to take it out again this weekend...

OK, I've been inspired by this thread. I dug out my dividend from last year, with my member number and all, and was very surprised to see that it was still good 'til the end of this year. So I went online and spent it!

So I used my *ahem* $13.60, and my 20% on a Jetboil Flash stove. Woohoo! Should arrive in a week!

Roger that! I bought a Marmot Helium sleeping bag a couple of years ago on the "one item 20% off " deal. That saved me $75 on a bag that virtually never gets discounted. I do the same thing with Pearl Izumi cycling gear - thus the paltry dividend. Simple math for me: 20% is better than 10%.

I got $7.50, I mostly buy my stuff when it hits the clearance or the sale rack but I love hitting REI and browsing all the great stuff!
