Went to traffic school the othern night for the first ticket I got in 10 years. 12 miles over on I-215 with no breaks. Oh well I was breaking the law. But it made me wonder how in the hell is SLC having budget problems with the money they make in that school. It cost's the price of your ticket (mine was 120.00) and then 75.00 for the school so your insurance doesn't raise. There were aproximately 200 people in my class and according to the instructor it was smaller than average. They do 3 classes a week. With the average citation costing 160.00 with out the traffic school. Not to mention the larger fines for crimes not there.

It got me thinking about radar detectors. Wouldn't be awesome to have a gps radar detector. That showed you exactly where the cops were. I think there ought to be technology that could do that. Wish I had the money to invest.

I also seen an app the other day that you could add to your cell phone that told you where the radar traps were....

In my opinion, traffic school is nothing but extortion. My 18 year old son got a moving violation for rolling a stop sign in American Fork a couple of months a go. The ticket cost about $75.00. Traffic school cost $80 but you could only register/sign up online through a third party site. The third party site charges a flat $20, so the cost for traffic school is now $100! I called American Fork City and asked if I could go to the city offices to pay the $80 traffic school fee. They told me you can only sign up through the third party site. I told them it was a scam and wondered how they sleep at night.

get the mobile phone app called Trapster.

It'll follow you on a google map and will point out where cops have been spotted.

I got snagged in the gorge last weekend for doing 72 in a 55. The Arizona online traffic school was $200 and very painful experience. At least I get to ride out to Moccasin on the bike to deliver the certificate :2thumbs:
