It's 0F outside right now. It's not unusually cold, but it may be significant because I'm thinking it might be our last 0F or below of the season. Last year (2009) our last official 0 or below temperature was April 5 and the year before (2008) our last official 0 or below temperature was April 1.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I'm guessing that this will be our last 0F of the season. I guess that means spring really is here. :2thumbs: It will still snow in May and maybe June, but I think we're done with the worst of it.

Long term forecast say we might hit our first 50F degree day of the year sometime late next week (though I'll be going to somewhere warmer than that for spring break).

Anyway, here is the breakdown so far this winter:

November 2009: 7 nights 0 or below; coldest temp -7F

December 2009: 20 nights 0 or below; coldest temp -30F

January 2010: 21 nights 0 or below; coldest temp -34F

February 2010: 17 nights 0 or below; coldest temp -20F

March 2010: 2 nights 0 or below; coldest temp 0F

Winter season 2009-2010: 67 nights 0 or below; coldest temp -34F

Bring on Spring! :2thumbs:

It looks gorgeous here today.

Here too.

It sure warmed up fast. It's already up to 38F (which is quite a warm up from 0)!

Anyway, this has been the least snowiest winter I've ever seen here. Right now I measure up to 17" of snow on the ground in the shade and some of the sunny areas of the yard even have a few pathes of grass barely showing. Either springs is going to come really early or we're going to get dumped on in May and June (such as we did in 2008).

I like the warm temperatures, but this season is probably going to be a bad one for river rafting (and for ranchers) unless it starts snowing some more. Snowpack is way below normal around here. I hope it snows more, but hopefully we're done with the sub-zero temps.

I'm leaving for Texas/New Mexico now, but I guess I'll see when I get back.

I think that is the El nino pattern -- less snow in the rockies.

On the other hand, we have been dumped on (rain/snow) here in Southern California all winter long. It has really jacked with mountain biking because, like utah, the ground doesn't handle tires very well when wet.

The weather here is SoCal is beautiful. Because of all the rain, all the hills are green. The flowers are going to be wonderful this spring. :2thumbs:
