Last weekend, I headed to Las Vegas to meet up with my family for some blackjack, salty margaritas, overpriced bud light and a free place to stay on the strip. They all went for the Nascar race, but after experiencing a race once a few years ago, I decided I never needed to go back. Instead me and my Mom planned on going out for a hike. ( Big thanks to everyone in this thread http://www.bogley.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20276 :2thumbs: )

I grabbed a beta for Anniversary Narrows in the Lake Mead NRA/ Muddy Mountain Wilderness from backpacker and headed out. If you go, take the Northshore road and at MM 16 there is a large parking area. If you have a high clearance 4WD, you can drive the road to within 1/2 mile of the narrows. We didn't know this so we walked the entire thing. Driving the rental over it would have saved about 4 miles.

The actual slot had some nice pink and white colors, reminded me of taffy. It was a great day added with a visit to Valley of Fire. I highly recommend it to anyone look for a quick, fun, escape from all the people in Vegas.
