I ran into a fellow out at Red Cliffs that told me about the aircraft arrow above Quail Creek. We walked up to it on Saturday, interesting historically and great 360 views. A really nice way to kill an hour or so.

There were four of these 50 foot long arrows installed in Washington County in 1926. They were used to guide aircraft flying between Los Angeles and SLC. At night they were lit with coal lamps.

looks like a blast.. do you have any more information on said arrows? links? locations of others? these would be sweet GC locations

TC, I think there is a GC in this area, although what I read was rather old. I saw the Lat/Lon for another arrow in St George, don't know where the others are. I'll try to check out the one in St George one day.

So I have been interested in these since this post.. and thought I would share a link to a local (Tooele) article regarding these Arrows :).. I even went and found one today myself HEHE
