Are we giving out just a little too much info in our addiction to social networking?
For instance, is it such a good idea to publicly announce that we've just left our homes to head out?
But now you don't even have to "announce" it or update your status. There are apps that can track your GPS location via your smart phone.... because we thought it was just the best thing in the world.
Will we see an increase in home burglaries?
This site, http://pleaserobme.com/ (Please Rob Me) gathers data from other apps, hoping to raise awareness that you may be announcing that your home is empty now.
For instance:
http://www.waze.com/homepage/
http://foursquare.com/
Now that the paranoia has been sparked, one thing to note is there still may be somebody home
... not all of these users are single 21 year olds living in a studio apartment.
