Nicknamed "Lombardi Gras" the Superbowl parade yesterday (Tues) was a blast! Here is Drew Brees showing off his passing arm with something besides a football. :2thumbs:

One more photo of the parade....this one after dark when Sean Peyton went by holding up the Lombardi Trophy. Most of my photos came out like this one. The Drew Brees photo came out the best, but it was taken before dark. Hell must really be freezing over since we are expecting 1 - 2" of snow here (New Orleans) tonight. It's been so much fun - I can't believe I have been down here almost 2 weeks now. One more week and I will be heading back home to SLC.

It's Carnival time anyway down here (Mardi Gras Day is on Tuesday next week) but the atmosphere has been super charged since the NFC championship game was won. Superbowl win sent everything into overdrive.
I decided when the Saints won the NFC championship that I just had to be down here with my friends and family to watch the Superbowl together. It's amazing just how many ex-residents came back to be here just like me. I had planned to be down for just a 4 day weekend, but I will be here a total of 3 weeks by the time I get back home. :2thumbs:

Believe it or not, there are still so many residents of the city that are still displaced because of Katrina. Funny as it may sound, people by the hundreds were calling the local stations (radio and tv) to let them know how homesick it has made them watching all of the festivities going on and they plan to do whatever it takes to move back here. There is only apprx. 2/3 of the population that has returned since Katrina. It's still surprising how many homes are standing abandoned to this day in really nice neighborhoods as well as the poorer sections.
