Bought my brand new 2009 Laramie/Resistol Ram 3500 DRW tonight. It is the most awesome vehicle I've ever driven!

2-Tone Khaki exterior, grey interior.

Traded in my 2008 Ram 2500, but recovered dash and steering wheel cover for re-use.

Now just get rid of the DPF and the EGR and add a Black max and you'll be set...

Now just get rid of the DPF and the EGR and add a Black max and you'll be set...

Next spend on the truck is the 20000 pound sliding 5th wheel hitch, 3 axle brake controller and the Smarty. Black Maxx will have to wait until my 5 year/100k warranty is up (I bought the extended warranty).

Black Maxx can only really be used on a truck that's been deleted and muffler/exhaust completely removed. That's getting tougher to do with the new emissions laws everywhere.

Truth be told, I kind of like the fact that this beast is quiet and blows no smoke.

If I had to venture, I would say you have never felt the 6.7 unleashed. My 07 is a whole different animal with the DPF and the XRT. I am a dealer so &^%$% the emissions laws. I don't have to comply. Anyhow, I pull a 48 foot gooseneck enclosed haulmark with about 15k in weight. Before the delete, i was getting 10 MPG and had to downshift like crazy going up any sort of incline. Now I get 15 mpg and never have to downshift for ANY grade. Sombitch even accelerates up the steep stuff. The only draw back is that I had to upgrade to a DD clutch. But holy shizam. One thing you need to make sure and do is to not let your truck idle for very long or you can expect a trip to the dealer to burn out your DPF everytime

I think you'd be able to park your 'house' just about anywhere you wanted to - that thing is incredible! :hail2thechief:

Actually, it wasn't that bad. With the sliding hitch, I made a 90 degree turn without issue.

That is a sweet toy hauler and truck. Let's see some pictures of that baby with the kick outs out.

If you could, after you have used the sliding hitch for a while report back on how it has worked for you. I have been looking at 5th wheels for a while but have a short bed.

Keep an eye on this dpf problem. My buddy just got rid of an 09 due to spending to much time at the dealership. Other then that he loved the truck.

Who say's the economy is struggling.

This is my 2nd Dodge Diesel. I traded in my 08 for the 09. No real DPF issues. I drive it hard at least once/week and that allows temps to get hot enough to allow regen. to occur.

My Mega cab has a 6'3" bed and the auto slide has worked great so far. The plastic trim on the 5'er at 90 degrees rubs the bed rails, but I'll fix that with a dremel tool.

I'm heading out toward Gold Butte/Whitney Pockets (east of Mesquite) on Thursday. I'll take some pics and do a TR upon my return next week.

Just put HD air bags under the truck yesterday to help with the bouncing I was getting while towing.

I'm headed to Mesquite thursday night for soccer/motorcycling. I'll have to watch for you. We'll ride out that direction one day. I'm sure I won't have a problem seeing your rig.

Nope. This rig is HUGE and will look like a convoy of white school buses coming down the road. :naughty:
