Crazy question: I am looking at the possible purchase of a Pinzgauer, but like the Volvo C303 as well. I've heard good arguments for the simpler drivetrain on the Volvo, and the availability of engine parts.

Anyone ever own one of these things? Guidance?

Am I stupid or what?

The idea is to leave this at my cabin in Utah for local excursions.

(JP -- any idea for a Cummins swap on one of these..?)

Hey Rev, that's the first I ever heard of that Volvo. I guess the tossup between that and the Ping would be availability of parts. I've seen the Ping's before, but would rather have a Unimog. I don't know if you have looked into them, I like them the best. They seem more heavy duty to me.

The Mog's came in all different sizes and accessories. Back in the day of that Volvo you mentioned, the Mog's were built by Mercedes. Some already had diesels, but a Cummins would work like a dream, easiest would be the 12v.

I will have one of these in the future
