Ibuprofen's, acetaminophen's with codeine, and sodium naproxen's, plu's some antihistamine's. It's a very compact kit, but it rattle's a lot when I walk or fall down. Duct tape is a good idea too, though - I should add that.

OK, that's the stuff I take on very short walks in the woods, and it's always in the top of my pack.

First aid kit wise, I just take along an Adventure Medical kit (the "Light and Fast - Personal (http://www.adventuremedicalkits.com/product.php?catname=Light%20&%20Fast&prodname=Personal&product=125#)" version) which is very minimal. I supplement it with some tape and extra bandages, plus the drugs noted above. I do have an emergency blanket, headlamp (always) and other stuff, but not bundled with the first aid kit.

With all the "Possibles Bag" talk and emergency stuff, I'm updating my kit, and making up an actual separate bag, because while I always take everything listed, I don't have it all in one grab-n-go stuff sack. Since I'm taking my kids on an adventure in the spring (OK, Zion isn't that big an adventure) I want to get everything ready to go.

If this keeps up you and Kurt are going to be going out to lunch on a regular basis. :2thumbs:

I have moved from putting my possibles junk in a waterproog bag to one of Tom's small kegs. The stuff in the bag got smashed after a short time.
I have been looking at maybe getting 2 plastic type water bottles and dividing the stuff up. Sometimes it hard to haul the small keg. Two bottles may be easier to pack?
What is everyone else putting their stuff in?

Speaking of Tampons. If a girl leaves them in your apartment and another girl finds them, is there a lie in this world that can save the night? :ne_nau:

you could tell them: "I'm a wuse, complain, and get pissy attitudes from time to time."

:ne_nau:

or the nose bleed. which ever one is more believable for the situation.

Please post a TR and let us know which one works the best

You can say they're for your canyon first aid kit.

Or just tell the truth, not the whole truth, perhaps nothing but the truth, and say 'that was quite some time before'... even if 'quite some time' is from last night...

Tell her you bought these super expensive lint rollers, but you haven't figured out how to use them yet.

I use to have everything to include IV's lactated ringers and saline, suture kits/staple kits and enough pain pills to kill a horse. the kit included everything a combat medic would carry plus a few extras. the Tampons are a really good item to have for a wound of any type. they are standard issue in combat locations because you can stick them in a GSW and plug up the hole.

My kit grows with the length of the trip / how far I'll be away from civilization. I always have an assortment of bandages and gauze, meds from aspirin, ibuprofin all the way through vicodin. Rehydration tabs too. Scissors, dental floss, needle, benadryl, anti-biotic, duct tape, etc. Can put a full list together if folks want.

If I'm going deeper into the backcountry; will likely also carry one or combination of an ace-type bandage, splint, etc.

I keep my medical kit in my emergency kit; which is in a small ditty bag / stuff sack. Anything that shouldn't get wet (lighter, fire starter, med kit, etc) is in a freezer ziplock.

Hope that helps,
A.J.

Standard red zippered pouch from Wal Mart:

-Couple of big gauze pads
-Bunch of different sizes of self-adhesive bandages
-Couple of Neo-Sporin tubes
-Couple of alcohol prep pads
-Four or five Histenol-Forte
-About ten Pain Aid

The last two are combo meds that come individually wrapped, which my wife gets for free at her office.

I always carry duct tape, but not in my med kit.
