Shoot me a PM - Like I said I am always down there.
I am also planning on doing some star trails on the backside of Timp next new moon... found a pretty sweet spot with a fire pit and great view of polaris.

Fun comparison Summit. I love the difference in the lighting in the sky. I am looking forward to us going shooting next week.

Great Shots! Most of these are HDR right? I especially like the first one you posted on January 5, beautiful light.
That Robot thing is an AT-ST. would be really cool if you did the same shot but made some footprints behind it like it actually walked there.
The Droid/XSI shot comparison is interesting, but the XSI shot is HDR so its not really a fair comparison, right? I wonder what the difference between the straight-out for each is. Don't worry about posting it though, I am much more interested in these beautiful landscape than a triviality anyway.
Great job!

I fully agree  :2thumbs: Great stuff as always Summit :2thumbs:
Thanks for all the comments.
I was getting pretty bored with the lake and had not been going down there nearly as often as in the previous months. As things are warming up the ice is starting to break up and move around so I have bit of a renewed interested.

Now that the days are short and its getting pretty cold I have been going down to Utah Lake to shoot sunset a few nights a week. I love the fact that I can drive 10-15min from my house to one of the harbors and sit out on the jetty with enough solitude it makes me feel like it out i the back country.
The sunsets over the last few days have been incredible. These photos are a mix of HDR and single exposures with NO colors adjustments.

Nice shots. I've been noticing the nice sunsets recently but I have no interesting subjects 10 minutes away like you do :P
A timelapse of those clouds at sunset would be killer. You can get a TC-80N3 clone for around $20 on amazon. 5 sec exposures every 10 seconds for an hour or so would give you a pretty sweet timelapse from that spot.

Some excellent work.
Thanks much.
The ice set up on thanksgiving day and the following storm piled up all the thin layers along the shore. This does not happen often so you really need to keep your eyes on conditions in order you catch it.

Awesome shots! I took a few this spring down on the Lake at the huge piles of ice built up at the Provo boat harbor, but seeing your shots makes me want to get out there again!
