TR - Flagstaff Peak, Little Cottonwood Canyon

Took a short jaunt up to Flagstaff Mountain in Little Cottonwood Canyon. This is located directly across from Alta (Goldminer's). The south facing stuff in the canyon is pretty clear right now. We had patchy snow but mostly dry with a few big sections of mud.

The trail starts at Our Lady of The Snows at Alta. It is the same trail you would take to go up Poleline to Mt. Superior. About halfway up, we cut right up a small trail to mining tailings. The trail stops there so from the tailings we just scrambled up an open bowl to the ridge. It was a beautiful day so we hung out for a while and then scrambled over to Flagstaff proper and headed down a west facing ridge back to the trail. Not often do you get to hike up that side without snow in late November. The north facing stuff including Alta and Snowbird are pretty snowy and in full force.
