From the Mac vs PC thread....
Which do you prefer as a whole? What's your specific soft drink?

I don't drink soda very often anymore but I always preferred Coke. Who wants a rum and Pepsi? Exactly.

I know this could be considered blasphemy on this sit, but I've never really liked Mountain Dew either :ne_nau: . I do have to admit though, it's got the most bad ass name for a soft drink.

Between the drink Coke or Pepsi I will certainly pick Coke. However, I too have been addicted to the green goodness from time to time. I also indulge on the the orange and red dew as well. :2thumbs:

Coke is much sweeter than Pepsi in my opinion :ne_nau:
This might have been a germane question 25 or 50 years ago, but in 2009, soda pop = obese America. My number one drink: water.

I'm addicted to Diet Mtn Dew, and I know it's a bad thing. But it's my favorite soft drink. The cola drinks seem to leave a film on my teeth.
If I'm drinking soda it'll be a Diet Pepsi, preferably with some Captain Morgan. :2thumbs:

I drink Dr. Pepper.... which is bottled by both compainies....
I I had to choose, Coke. Nothing like a whiskey and coke with a smoke and a poke.

Coke
I have always drank it because it was what my parents drank. I can drink a Pepsi but I prefer the taste of Coke.
If I am at a place that serves Pepsi then I will have a Dew.

When I'm drinking Captain Morgan, if I have to have soda, just a dash of Pepsi!

In my house its coke over pepsi, sprite over 7up and there is always some dew in the fridge.
Most the coke that goes through our fridge is cherry coke. As a kid in the 70's I never knew there was any drinks but milk and coke, that is all that was ever in the house. By the time I was in grade school we also had an occasional mellow yellow in the house, due to my oldest brother, not due to my dad.

Ditto. I switched from regular Dew to Diet last winter and have never looked back. It took about a month to get accustomed to the diet but now the regular Dew tastes nasty. For the past few months I have forced myself to drink a large glass of water as soon as I get into the office before I can dig in to my Dew stash. I'm not a big water drinker- I like a bit of flavor, so the diet Dew is my reward for drinking the water.
Mountain Dew. And that reminds me; I have a bottle in my bag this morning and nearly forgot.

I prefer Pepsi out of a bottle, and Coke in a can. They taste different.
I'm currently trying to get off of the soda, and was doing pretty well for a while, but have slipped a bit recently. Time to get back to it.

I won't drink any soda out of a can. Don't like the taste. Prefer a fountain, but a bottle is ok on occasion

I can only drink Mtn Dew out of the can. It gets too watery on ice. I cant drink Coke out of the can...too strong. When you put coke on ice there is nothing better IMO.

I used to drink at least a 6 pack of Mt Dew every day.... about 5 years ago I cut back to one or two each week..... the end result is I lost 10 pounds almost instantly and have kept the weight off. The 10 pounds was a direct result of soft drinks.

I have NEVER lost the 10 lbs that are said to be an immediate result of cutting out soda.
I've cut soda probably 6 times over the last 10 years, each time it's for about a month. I go completely cold turkey, and I don't lose a pound.
So then I say screw it and I start drinking my diet dew again.
With the choice of the two, I probably would lean towards Coke.
All you Coke fans that lean towards other Pepsi products like Mountain Dew or Dr. Pepper, have you tried their rivals :ne_nau:

Coca Cola has superior customer service, this is why you'll see them more in restaurants and such. Great prices, great service. But a lot of business owners will say they like the actual product of Pepsi better.

I see it when I'm down south.

After a cold Dew drinking Mello Yello tastes like ass. :lol8:
I'm not a big soda junkie, I just see the different kinds in my travels. What about Pibb?

I haven't heard many talk about Dr. Pepper...which is on the Coke side of things.
Mello Yellow is watery compared to Dew...

DR.Pepper is not a Coke or Pepsi product. It is distributed by Coca Cola in some parts of the state and Pepsi in other parts. They are their own company based out of Texas called the DR.Pepper Snapple Group.

I am a Dr. Pepper fan too, but if I have to choose Coke or Pepsi - I choose coke.
I still remember when I was a pre-teen, my best friend filled 2 glasses with ice and we shared a coke, perhaps my first coke. Pepsi can't compare. It's sort of like remembering my first taste of beer at age 12 with my dad and his friends- it was at Lake Mead. When I smell or taste beer today I still think of boating and beaches.
