(I realize this should be (and is) in the environmental section, but I also realize a lot of people dont read there. I think this is an important issue that very few people are aware of so I'm posting both places.)
Hey all,
Did you know that there will be a vote on Dec. 29 to change the zoning for the Tavaci area above the gravel pit (with the possibility of expanding that zoning throughout the benches and at LCC, too) at BCC to accomodate commercial/resort development? The developer cant sell his lots as it is currently zoned (residential) so (in my opinon) is looking for a way out of that current money losing endeavor. The mayor of Cottonwood Heights is a proponent of this as is the majority of the city council. Even if you are not in Cottonwood Heights, this is a matter that will effect everyone who loves the canyons. Incresed denisity, traffic, pollution, and, in my opinion bigger scars on the mountainside. Public comment will be allowed on Dec. 8th. Visit www.chcommunity.com for more information.
Thanks.
Karen
