Historian to Speak on Everett Ruess
November 12, 2009
Weber State University and the Weber Historical Society will host historian W.L. "Bud" Rusho on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Lindquist Alumni Center speaking about Everett Ruess, an artist and writer who explored much of the American West alone.
In 1934, Ruess vanished on a journey through the canyons of the Escalante River. In 2008, his remains were thought to have been found south of Bluff, Utah, at Comb Ridge, 90 miles from his last known campsite. Recent developments, however, indicate they may not be Ruess'.
Rusho, author of "Everett Ruess - Vagabond for Beauty," will discuss Ruess' life and travels, followed by a book-signing opportunity. The presentation is free to the community.
