After a difficult 90 minutes against Chicago in Chicago the game went to extra time and then to penalty kicks which Real won 5:4. Thank you Rimando!

I was thinking about it but in the end I decided that I am too old to spend 15 hours on a bus each way :ne_nau: I am heading to a pub to watch the game. Go Real!

Pretty impressive for a team that got lucky going to the play offs.

For the record, I believe that I personally benefit more from Real Salt Lake's success more than probably anybody else here. So don't think I'm a Real hater. There was just a lot of things which had to happen that last week for them to make the playoffs and considering the fact that it was just short of a miracle that they ended up going to the finals, it is amazing that they have now are going to the championship match.

Real players definately made us wait in the penalty kicks :haha:

Myself, I am not happy with the whole eastern and western division split and then playoffs. I understand it is supposed to make it more exciting for fans but I believe a traditional league system would be better. MLS could still create a league cup and keep the playoff system there. Hopefully, as more teams come on board they will switch to a standard form of soccer league.

A few XanGo employees here will be on the party bus. Yep, 15 hours one way! :eek2: I made a custom logo and some banners on our main website: www.xango.com

XanGo is benefiting big time from all the media impressions. We were in Sports Illustrated the other day and ESPN today. Our jersey sponsorship deal is paying for itself. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/section?id=us&cc=5901

The announcers were so biased. Giving head to Beckham and Landycakes all match. And to hear it in their voice and announcing after we won priceless

I wasn't that impressed with Beckham. He didn't seem very special to me. I guess I am not that familiar with Soccer but when you watched Michael Jordan play you could see why he was special, I just didn't see it with Beckham.

Either way, I am just thrilled that Real won!

A couple things here....

1. Beckham is past his prime, still good, but past his prime.

2. One man can take over a basketball game, not so much in soccer. It's all about ball possession and one man can't get the job done.

My brother ended up in two of the photos from the Trib writeup. He is the one holding the purple banner.

It's called a scarf, James. And it is the single most important piece of equipment a soccer fan brings to the game. It's sort of like a Bud Light or a hot dog for a football fan :roflol:

It's very practical. It allows you to sport your team's colors, wave it in your hands at a game, and keeps you warm during the cold months :2thumbs:

I am on my way to Rio Tinto to celebrate :haha:

** Edited to add space for Ice***

Actually, I think this title for Real is very cool indeed. I have learned to appreciate soccer by watching all my kids play. Amazing talent for sure. WELL DONE REAL. Oh and I have been to a game or two with my kids but not yet in the new stadium. I do want to go to Rio Tinto to experience that venue. Have fun and call me if you get busted.... :lol8: (that is a little joke people....)

If that's true I can see why soccer will never replace football as the national passtime.

MMMmmmm.... hotdogs and beer.... :slobber:

I thought baseball was the national passtime :haha: I'm just glad Real won and showed all the soccer haters that they're a great team and, in fact, the most successful professional team as far as Utah is concerned :2thumbs: And while I understand that it might be hard to fall in love with the greatest game on earth to some of the older folks, seeing how many kids kick soccer balls around makes me feel very optimistic about the future of the sport.

Now if we could only get an NHL team in here - that would rock! I would still support New York Rangers thought :haha: No more 1940!
