I'm just finishing up my apprenticeship at the Moab Bogleyfest (http://www.bogley.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17804) tomorrow, and after that I'm looking for some kindly and experienced folks to show me some of the NW or the Roost during the coming week.
Any offers?

Rob there is a group out there right now. They were at dinner Thursday. Right now they are doing something hard but there should be others in the area.

What trackrunner said... Usually anyone camped in the Sandthrax camp site is a canyoneer and will let you tag along if you ask. I've hooked up with a lot of people at Sandthrax when solo and had a lot of fun. There is always canyoneers coming or going from the area.
Directions to Sandthrax Campsite: From Hanksville drive south on highway 95 for 28 miles. At mile marker 28.3 there is a short spur road on the left (east) side of the road. The spur road leads back about 100 yards to a stand of trees. This is a primitive campsites.
Enjoy the remainder of your trip. :2thumbs:

Well I bumped into a group of youngsters from Colorado; we did two of the Leprachaun canyons...and I'm knackered!
Off to a motel for a rest!
Thanks for the help.

Depending on the weather, I will probably be there with the Mapletonians on Saturday. Look for a red Toyota Tundra. I'll be the guy with the goofy smile driving.

Saturday I'll be doing Pine Creek (& maybe another Zion slot) with some of the crew who took part in French_de's Granary trip on Sunday.
What or who are Mapletonians?

And if you were to get a chance to eat some of their cooking, apparently it's not to be missed!
Oh well, have fun in Zion!

Hey Rob, what did you think about the Leprechaun's? Big change from the stuff in Moab isn't it. The North Wash stuff can beat you up a little bit. :haha:
Zion will be anther big change... but it will be back to a more gentle canyoneering enviroment. Hope your enjoying the vacation. Shauna and I enjoyed doing routes and drinking beer with you.

Rob someone is looking for partners to climb one of the best peaks in Zion. Climbing isn't too hard. You probably pulled harder moves in the North Wash area.

Well, Nuts... everyone bailed. Weather, flu... all the newbies postponed for a couple of weeks so I guess for me it is hit the couch for some football tomorrow. Not a bad way to spend a saturday but I would rather be in a canyon.
I am interested to hear how Zion faired after the storms yestereday/today.

And likewise; it was great to have someone like you show me a little of the techniques (and routes) that is hard to pick up by any other means. Thanks very much for sharing your knowledge & skills.
The North Wash consumed a pair of shoes, my pants AND my underwear. Not to mention my shoes & socks. But it was fun, albeit hard work.
Pine Creek was FULL. Lots of swimming in frigid water; so much so I shivvvvvverrrrrred & shoooook almost the whole trip. Wetsuits were not enough; a dry suit would have been much better.
I suppose with the passage if time, I'll look back upon it fondly.
Then perhaps not. :lol8:

Sweet! Pine Creek was almost totally dry the only time I've been through. I hope to have to swim next time (looks like May for me.) Much left to do on this trip, or you almost done, Rob?

Sorry, J, I've only just noticed your reply, my apologies.
My response is in the main Bogleyfest thread, here (http://www.bogley.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=190314#190314).
It was good to meet up with experienced canyoneers like yourself, and thanks for your tremendous help & support.
Regards,
Rob
