So last night Justin asks me about what I do if I'm out alone with my Jeep (as I frequently am) and something goes wrong....

Today, on my way home from Bogleyfest, I was taking the backroads across the Dolores Triangle and I lose my brakes (good thing I wasn't on a steep grade)...

One of the hard lines on my rear axle ruptured. I was on a semi-maintaned road, so it didn't get caught on anything.....I think it was just weakened from all the vibrations/bumps my Jeep sees on a weekly basis.

So, here's what I did to get home...

Anyways, I had a great time at Bogleyfest, and will put up my trip report once I go through the photos I took.

I once had a shift linkage held together with vise grips for a couple hundred miles on a sunday to get back from yellowstone.
Nice fix.
You do intend to do it right sometime soon though yes?

It will be fixed by tomorrow, since I am going back to Moab on Wednesday.

ooh dang man. But hey, nice fix. That's the most important skill to have on the trail.

Glad you made it back alright. Nice meeting you.

Sorry to hear you had trouble but glad you were able band-aid it well enough to get home. I never had the chance to thank you for helping out with the Granary Canyon shuttle at Bogleyfest. It really made the day so much easier.

Back to Moab on Wednesday huh? Lucky dog!!

Super job. Now what would you have done if you didn't have that tie down strap? And the answer is ............
