Willrow Hood was a humble ice cream maker who owned a small frozen dairy business in Cloud City on Bespin. Not to be confused with Willow Hood, the hobbit.
Willrow Hood was born in 40 BBY on the planet Baskin, of the Baskin Robbins sector of the Blue Bell system. From a young age, Willrow showed an affinity towards frozen dairy products. For his fourth birthday, his parents bought him a white electric ice cream maker. The boy would treasure this present for the rest of his life.
Excelling in his studies, Willrow Hood would eventually enroll in the Imperial Academy's prestigious Dairy Science School of Engineering. It was there where Willrow began experimenting with different kinds of milk, including Blue milk and other ingredients, creating fantastic new flavors such as Darth Malt, Milleni-Cream Falcon, and R2-ty Fruity. His successful patenting and marketing of these fantastic concoctions landed him enough money to start up his own ice cream brand, "Hood's Goods." "I only want to share my love of Ice Cream with all sentient beings," he was once quoted as saying. He set up a small factory on the Bespin mining station Cloud City, hoping to utilize the large, un-unionized, cheaply paid Ugnaut workforce.
He was successful on Cloud City for many years, creating a name for himself and his ice cream galaxy-wide. But as fate would have it, Darth "Johnny" Vader, in his pursuit of Han Solo, was led to the quiet city by Boba Fett, where a trap was laid for the pirate. When Lando Calrissian ordered the evacuation of Cloud City, Willrow Hood only had time to grab his most prized possession, his childhood ice cream maker. Running through the halls and corridors of the floating city with his ice cream maker under his arm, he only hoped that he could one day return to his prized ice cream factory, where he made his wonderful ice cream that people the galaxy over loved and enjoyed.
Willrow Hood would never see that day, however. He was shot in the back and killed by a Stormtrooper in the ensuing crossfire between Imperial Forces and the escaping Rebels. His ice cream factory, like Cloud City itself, was nationalized by the Empire. Many say that the quality of the ice cream declined once the Empire took over, believing the secret ingredient that made Willrow's ice cream so fantastic was simply "love."
After the Rebels liberated Cloud City from the Empire, a statue of Willrow Hood was erected in honor of the man who brought joy, happiness, and delicious ice cream to the galaxy.
