I use to see really nice cars, jags, mercedes etc parked on the street in NYC with signs in the windows that say, "No stereo, no valuables".

Its was a common thing.

I had my Ford Pinto broken into once. I imagine somebody scored $10 worth of Meth on their winnings.

When I was in college I stopped locking my car because it was broken into so many times. I left the glove box and console completely empty... no papers, no nothing.... no problems after that. I could always tell when someone had gone through the car because they would always leave the glovebox open
