The first one looks like Blue Canyon: http://www.bogley.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=95136

The second I'm not quite sure of...it looks kind of like Entrada Sandstone, but it's more angular than anything I've seen.

Thanks, but.... I know, that the location on Pic1 is in New Mexico.

There are numerous badland areas in New Mexico that have a landscape and formations like that.
The first to come to mind is the Bisti Badlands and the neighboring De-Na-Zin Wilderness Area south of Farmington.

I thought the same, but the area is big.
