After going through airport security twice in the past week with my family I have decided we should shot every damn rag head on the planet.... no penalty is to great for the troubles and time they have caused me.

I had my carry-on searched the last time I was coming back from New York. I was carrying an ashtray, lighter, and a music box made out of crystal, all covered in bubble wrap and taped up. My mom also put in a jar of Polish mustard, also in bubble wrap and taped solid. On top of that I had a graphics card tossed in between sweaters. The lady opened the bag and cut through the bubble wrap, admiring the crystals. She almost did not allow the lighter because even though it was out of gas, it was still making a spark. Thankfully her supervisor ok'd it. She did have me toss the mustard, however. Mothers, huh?! Then she took the graphics card and started testing it with the chemical thingie for explosives. Thankfully, no cavity search.

Every time I fly, I dress as if I'm preparing for security.

I wore Flip Flops one time and got sent back through the line because I didn't take them off.

I have a new idea for airport security.....

Instead of the controversial full-body scanners now being introduced at major airports what they really need is a reinforced booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device or ignite any flammable liquids that you are carrying.

I see this as a win-win for everyone - there would be no racial profiling and no expensive trial. Justice would be quick and swift. And the airport security line would move along much faster.

Just think..... you're in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system, "Attention standby passengers, we now have a seat available on flight number..."

Has anyone else found out the hard way that those kids books with the "eyeballs" set of bomb detectors? What's in those eyeballs?

Maybe not in airports, but they sure did in the American Embassy in Costa Rica. We had to stand against the wall and everything. After security searched our bags to find out what set off the detectors (we didn't know what set them off), they all had a great laugh and I guess we did two.

What a great idea.

Try flying anywhere with the name David Nelson. You would think with it being a very common name, they would take that into account. Apparently a David Nelson somewhere has been put on the no fly list and ruined it for the rest of us. Give it a Google and you'll see. I've been standing in front of the lady in full military dress uniform, military orders in hand, with a military ID, and STILL I get the, "Could you step over here please sir"
