Hi. I am a Florida native.... I have visited the southwest twice now and I am in love. I have hiked to Havasu Falls and this past summer spent time in Zion where I included a hike to the beautiful Subway. All I can think about is returning to the southwest, Utah in particular! I have two weeks off work coming up in December and I was wondering what the weather might be like around the Moab area. How cold during the day?

I love running, hiking, repelling/canyoneering (I am SUCH a beginner!), scuba diving, and other outdoor "stuff". I look forward to "meeting" others who share my same interests... :blahblah:

It really depends on the storms that come through. If it's sunny, it could easily reach 50-60 in December. If a storm is blowing through you will not leave your motel room.

The cool thing about Moab in December, there are NO tourists anywhere, so you have the whole playground to yourself.

Welcome to the site.

Moab is awesome in December..... no crowds, comfortable hiking weather and cheap motels. Only real down side is the days are kinda short but Moab does have a reasonable night life.

This should give you some ideas of things to do around Moab

Welcome! You'll find it really addictive... I'm just about finished my... 10th? or 11th? trip here over the past 4 years. (Writing this from the Moab library, in fact. I really needed a rest day!)

I've never done the middle of winter thing - at least not yet - so others with have better info, but this is a great place to find partners willing to hook up and help out.

Have fun!
